Meeting Rules and Requirements

Photography and Video/Audio Recording

Given our focus on privacy, photos, video recording, or audio recording without prior consent of all parties within the scope of capture is strictly prohibited at meetings.

On occasion, dc312 meetings may have a limited scope of video and audio recording to capture a presentation's content and the presenter. These recordings will be clear visible with notification to participants and with consent of the presenter.

Press and Law Enforcement

As with all DEF CON meetings and conferences, members of the Press and Law Enforcement are more than welcome to attend, whether in an official or personal capacity. We ask that both parties clearly identify themselves to other participants and members they engage with up front in their introduction of themselves.

Members of media outlets or independent press must identify themselves when serving in an official capacity or otherwise with intent of using the meeting in the scope of a piece.

Violation of formal or unofficial policies

While dc312 events are open to the public, they commonly do occur in private venues. Individuals and organizations may, at the sole discretion of leadership, be removed from an event and/or barred from attending future events if violation of these defined rules or the laws applicable to the jurisdiction the dc312 meetings occur.
